Checkers Plettenberg Bay
The Checkers shopping center in Plettenberg Bay boasts a classic design focused on a convenient parking area and a diverse array of shops. The building, characterized by an earthy color palette and a modernist profile, contributes to the urban ambiance of the architectural design. R.A.W. Projects meticulously detailed and fabricated the steel structure, employing over 90 tonnes of steel with exposed beams and roof supports that align with the architectural theme.
Inside the shopping center, the design is decidedly modern and open, featuring high ceilings and exposed ventilation ducts that enhance its urban architectural character. The Checkers store, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, is thoughtfully designed with wider aisles and deeper shelves to enhance usability and customer experience.
R.A.W. Projects places a significant emphasis on the detailing of their steel structures, recognizing that investing time in the planning stages yields improved construction workflows, cost efficiencies, and ensures timely project completion. The draughting and detailing department at R.A.W. Projects utilizes a visual 3D modeling package, providing an accurate and integrated approach to managing the detailing of all manufactured and erected steel structures. The structural design team excels in addressing complex issues and devising innovative solutions that positively impact all their steel structure projects.
The Plettenberg Bay Checkers shopping center stands as an urban landmark in the Garden Route, and R.A.W. Projects takes pride in having manufactured and erected the distinctive steel structure.
