Did You Know?

This awe-inspiring structure tips the scales at a staggering 64 tons — that’s equivalent to 26 average cars! Built to last and designed to inspire, the Amphitheatre is a true feat of engineering and collaboration.

Behind the build

Here’s what went into creating this dynamic space:

  • 62 precision-rolled steel tubes (219mm diameter), forming the elegant curves of the roof stretching over 250 running meters
  • Over 1,800 bolts and nuts used to secure the structure with strength and stability
  • A roof span of 720 m²  roughly the size of three tennis courts

Bringing this project to life required the skill and dedication of an exceptional team of professionals:

  • Coetzee Architects & Associates — Responsible for shaping the vision and leading the architectural design
  • Primus Consulting Engineers — Ensuring structural integrity and safety through expert engineering
  • RAW Projects’s Structural Draftsman — Translating creative concepts into precise construction plans and Boiler Makers & Site Erectors’ — Executing the build with accuracy and craftsmanship
  • Builders Le Grange Projects — Serving as the principal builder
  • Cape Shade — Delivering innovative and functional shading solutions

From concept to completion, the Amphitheatre stands as a testament to thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship, and the power of collaboration. It’s more than just a structure — it’s a space designed to bring learning, performance, and community together under one striking roof.
